Under Your WoW Skirt
In World of Warcraft I am a female warrior. Wise man say: “You will look at the back of this character for many hours, so on which gender’s ass would you like to gaze?”
Beyond that people seem to treat me better. I haven’t seen any recent statistics on what percentage of men and women play World of Warcraft, but deep in my heart I know: lotta dicks out there. And those dicks will be on their best behaviour if there is a chance I am actually a woman in real life, and not what the movie Gattaca might call “a borrowed ladder.”
If I’m guilty of anything it’s taking a little too much pride in my appearance. Up until recently I had won more unofficial beauty contests than any of my friends. These beauty contests are simple: Stand next to one character, and ask a random player to point to who they think is prettier.
Perhaps this contest can spill over into Up Up Down Down. Maybe it would just be automaton and I, but I accept a beauty challenge from anyone. Send us an email with a picture of your prettiest WoW character (making sure the picture excludes any in-game names or personal information) and we will have our own beauty contest here, FaceMash style.
I’ve always wondered if WoW players who play opposite sex characters in game are really tranny’s at heart. 2D is there something you’d like to share with us?
i play as a pretty female in WoW. in fact, it’s very possible the female in today’s comic is my character.
the reason is exactly as 2D summarized in the post. i think, at the end of the day, it comes down to RP vs. non-RP players. if you’re an RP player, it would be weird to “play as” the opposite sex, since you feel like “you” are actually in dungeons, fighting, and looking all tough.
for non-RP players (like myself), when i play the game i don’t feel like it’s “me” in there, with the breasts. instead i feel like i’m watching a girl beat the shit out of an elite mob, and that’s what i’d like to look at. a girl. not a burly man.
so actually, to me, it never made sense that you’d never want to play a female character. who wants to look at a man all day? fulrach, apparently…
I can see what you 2 are getting at but at the same time… do you not find it weird to be enjoying the digitial representation of a woman? It’s digital, maybe if they had real images of hot chicks beating on mobs instead of something cg… i dunno… i still don’t get it
I also never understood the whole RP thing, that’s escapism to the next level… i mean i’m all for good acting and such but to ‘believe’ you’re a digital character is freaky… i’ve only heard about those RP servers but shizz do they scare me!

Well they don’t have real images in Warcraft … just digital ones.
Also, WoW is a long, long road. I don’t spend every hour thinking “what a hot ass,” most of the time I’m looking away at a TV show or movie.
At the end of all things, aren’t we all just looking at the gear?
Well, guilty here. Back in my WoW-ing days, I had a female human warrior. Even went with a slate gray beehive hairdo bit. Why? Well, there’s the whole “digital backside staring” bit, but in reality it was far more pleasurable to shitstomp other players in PVP as “some girl”, running amok as a true beast. Perhaps I’ve layed the whup upon you, back when.
And no, did not RP. Too busy chopping heads.
